High Level Skills for Net Zero: Grand Challenge – 6 December 2023
This event will bring together funders, researchers, universities, government, and industry representatives to generate guidance and insights into how to maintain the UK’s competitiveness for attracting and retaining diverse, high quality postdoctoral talent in a global market, and addressing future skills shortages that could risk progress towards net zero.
Progress towards net zero will require advances in technology and innovation, investment, and a skilled workforce. Much of the existing discussion and debate in relation to the skills needed for net zero focusses on the lower skills levels (e.g. technical workforce), whilst largely omitting the requirements for a higher-level skilled workforce, such as at doctoral and postdoctoral level, that will be required to provide leadership for, as well as the competency to engage and innovate towards this agenda.
If you are interested in joining us in a debate on high level skills requirements needed for a just transition to a net zero society, and for meeting the net zero and ‘Build-Back-Better’ strategies please fill in this expression of interest form.
