Understanding Intellectual Property – 25th March
As a postdoctoral researcher, it is vital that you understand intellectual property (IP) as it applies to your work. IP protects your research ideas so that you can reap the benefits and profits if they are commercialised in the future.
This dynamic half-day, online training course from 9.30am to 12.30pm will enable you to improve your understanding of IP and help to develop the impact of your research.
Free to postdocs, this workshop will provide expert input from the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and the Higher Education Institution (HEI) perspective. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to consider key aspects of IP and explore common pitfalls, anticipating how to overcome them.
A toolkit of resources will be signposted and you will examine a case study, with a green technology focus, so that you can delve into aspects of IP introduced earlier in the day in a context that links clearly to postdoctoral research. Your rich discussions will generate a range of questions that will feed into an interactive panel Q&A session, including representative from the Intellectual Property Office, Higher Education and business partners.
This event is free of charge for postdoctoral researchers. If you are new to C-DICE, simply register here with your University email address.
If you are already registered with us, you can book onto it through our Inkpath researcher development platform.
