XCT Imaging for Geomaterials – 13 and 14 September 2022 – University of Southampton – hybrid event
During this two day workshop, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on essential skills in applying X-ray computed tomography (XCT) as a research tool within Geomechanics, Geotechnics and Geoscience. This will include:
• XCT basics & data handling
• Global analysis: solid/pore volume fractions
• Local analysis: particle/pore morphometry
• Bulk density calibration
Practical overviews and demonstrations:
- Machine Learning for XCT data
processing - Time-resolved (4D) imaging and digital
volume correlation (DVC) - Image-based modelling
Plenary talks will feature – Institut Laue-Langevin & Diamond Light Source.
XCT scan time awards will be awarded.
This training event is open to researchers & engineers with or without previous XCT experience.
