Vision To Venture: Researcher Awarded £5000 To Start Business

We are delighted to announce that Dr Humera Ansari, Vice-Chancellor Independent Research Fellow at Loughborough University has been announced as the winner of the C-DICE Vision To Venture programme.

The C-DICE Vision to Venture programme, delivered in partnership with Code-Switch Consultants, was a four-week course, designed to build consultancy skills to help postdocs interested in honing entrepreneurial skills to develop a business proposition while building a brand and crafting a persuasive pitch.

Guest judges – entrepreneurs Leanne Case and John O’Brien plus Sharon Henson from C-DICE – enjoyed six amazing business pitches at the Vision to Venture final on 24 July 2024, featuring some innovative ideas supporting the net-zero carbon transition.

The judges felt that Humera’s business venture in carbon capture and storage was a timely and much needed consultancy for industry and will be fast-tracked with a little financial help from C-DICE to get started.

Speaking about the win, Humera said “the Vision to Venture programme has given me all the right tools to build a unique brand and pitch engagingly, and also provided valuable feedback that will help guide my business to success. I’m really grateful to C-DICE for all of the great opportunities on offer and I can’t wait to get started on my business!”

We look forward to watching the business develop.
